|Beach at Sunrise in Zipolite, Oaxaca, Mexico|
Just in case you wondered why you have not heard a peep from us in the last few weeks, we just returned from Mexico, where we fled the snowy Philadelphia winter and spent a couple of weeks on the Oaxacan coast–specifically the tiny beach-side village of Zipolite, where the lifestyle is mellow and the ocean is treacherous. Just for fun, we thought we’d share a few pictures from the trip.
Accommodations were one step above camping (no triple sheeting here), but the price is right and the ocean is a few steps away. One afternoon we got to see a GIANT gray whale breaching just off shore – very cool and a first for both of us. The morning we left, we were lucky enough to encounter some just-hatched sea turtles scurrying down to the water for their first swim. As luck would have it, we did not have our cameras on us!
It was a wonderful trip but we were ready to come home and get back to work. We loved the down time, but we also love what we do and that makes coming back to work–with our batteries recharged–a pleasure of a different kind.
